Algebra 1
Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12
Two Semesters
One Credit Each Semester
This course is a graduation requirement.
Students who have successfully completed Pre-Algebra must sign up for this course.

Special Note: A TI XIIS calculator is required for this course.

Algebra I formalizes and extends the mathematics learned in the middle grades. Five critical areas comprise Algebra I: Real numbers and expressions; Functions; Linear Equations and Inequalities; Quadratic and Exponential Equations; Systems of Equations and Inequalities; and Data Analysis and Statistics. These critical areas deepen and extend understanding of linear and exponential relationships by contrasting them with each other by applying linear models to data that exhibit a linear trend, and students engage in methods for analyzing, solving, and using quadratic functions. As it is the foundation to success in all high school mathematics courses, it is important for students to master the material before attempting the next course.

Eligible students should sign up for Algebra 1A first semester.
Eligible students should sign up for Algebra 1B second semester.
